What is due to come in on October 1st 2026 is a very unfair attack on adult vapers and the best of the vaping market place. We are being punished due to the illegal activities of those who have jumped onto the vaping world in order to make a fast buck. This is not where the good manufactures of vape are coming from. Those that have been around for nearly 15 years + feel unable to continue and all that will be left are the crooks who sell to kids from their little high street shops. Most adult vapers would never go near the substances they sell. The hike in prices is huge and one has to wonder if this is a government protecting big Tobacco and big Pharmaceutical. It appeared the UK was aware of the good vaping had done for smokers. Like others have said i too have reduced the strength of liquid i use. i cannot understand why with a cost of living crisis the government would want to impose such a massive penalty on people who are trying to do the right thing vapers and the vaping industry. Shame on you!"

"I am 40 and have been vaping for almost 10 years. It has helped me get rid of the nasty habit of smoking. I have very slowly been lowing the strength of nicotine because I am not in a position to be able to fully quit due to severe stress I am under daily from a physical disability. Increasing duty on vape liquid is wrong and should be reversed immediately. You already tax the heck out of actual tobacco products. People need to learn that vaping is NOT smoking. People do not get lung cancer because of vaping. All there needs to be is more regulation to make it safer for people and to make it impossible for minors to get ahold of it. Increasing the price will not stop minors from vaping. It's just a shortcut that will only hurt people who legally vape."

"I was a smoker for about 40 years and tried everything to give up, even having a heart attack couldn’t give me the willpower to give up for longer than a few weeks. Vaping has kept me smoke free for more than 18 months now but if the price of the 100ml liquids I buy goes up from £11 to £56 I would be forced to go back to smoking as it would be cheaper! Stop all single use vapes as a way to stop kids from buying them but don’t penalise adult vapers, vaping has literally saved my life!"

"I have been quit from smoking for 5 years now, and its all down to vaping. I have reduced the strength of nicotine in my oil and will be stopping vaping all together in the near future. I can guarantee that if vapes were hidden, more expensive, plain flavours, viewed as harmful as cigarettes, then I never would have quit smoking in the first place. I'm all for stopping kids vaping, it should only ever be used as a stop smoking aid, not to just start doing it.
